Gränsfors Stor Klyvyxa

Gränsfors Stor Klyvyxa is an efficient splitting ax for all types of wood. Hickory shaft with steel shaft guard. Concave head provides good splitting properties. Gränsfors splitting axes are, as the name indicates, made for splitting wood. The axes have a large and heavy head that is forged and ground into a concave shape with a relatively thin edge. The axes are made to cut along the grain of the wood, unlike forest axes which are made to cut the grain of the wood.

The concave shape of the splitting axes means that the edge easily and quickly enters the wood and then splits efficiently when the wider part pushes the wood apart. The unique shape also means that the ax head does not stick as easily in the wood as with a thin ax head.
