Carinthia Defence 4 is one of the world’s most widely used and proven three-season sleeping bags, chosen by the German, Swedish and Finnish defence forces for its reliability in harsh climates.

It combines high thermal capacity, low weight and compact packing volume, making it the first choice for everything from longer expeditions to demanding exercises and outdoor tours.

The G-LOFT® insulation provides reliable warmth even in humid conditions and dries quickly if it gets wet – a crucial feature when used for several days in a row.

The durable outer fabric is made of 100% polyamide and has a water-repellent coating that protects against rain and moisture. A generous zipper protection channel on the inside prevents heat leakage, while the outer protective flap provides extra protection against wind and moisture. The zipper is easy to handle even with gloves.

In extreme cold, Defence 4 can be combined with the Carinthia Tropen for a modular system that can handle the coldest nights of winter. This allows you to use the same sleeping bag all year round by adjusting the insulation level. We recommend that you combine this type of bag with Hiddi, launched in 2026.
