This backpack is an external- frame backpack with short frame. It is developed in conjunction with Scandinavian units working in arctic environment and cold weather. The short frame will work both with hip belt in conjunction with plate-carriers, chest-rig or load bearing vest. You can also skip the wings on the hip belt if you use belt-kit.
Pältsa was developed for the arctic environment based on experience from soldiers, that not only survive, but thrive in this cold and harsh conditions. Pältsa has features that are specifically tailored for soldiers wearing mittens and working in snow, but it will perform just as well in summertime and on jungle operations. The volume is based on infantry operations but can work well on LRRP/SR missions.
